Verónica Francisca Martínez
Appellate Judge, Córdoba, Argentina.
Verónica is a Lawyer and Notary, holding a degree from the Catholic University of Córdoba, República Argentina. Since 2010 she serves as an Appellate Judge, Member of the 9th Court of Appeals in Civil and Commercial matters of the 1st Judicial District of the Province of Córdoba, holding special jurisdiction in corporate governance and bankruptcy matters.
Before her current position, Verónica served for ten years as a First Instance Bankruptcy Judge, in the 39th Nomination Court (Bankruptcy and Corporate governance No. 7), Córdoba. Prior to joining the Judiciary, she worked as a practicing attorney, specializing in commercial law, bank, corporate matters, and bankruptcies, also having served as Legal Manager of the ‘Banco de Córdoba’. Upon graduating, she received the University Prize Gold Medal Award for the best graduate, and in 1991, she was honored with the Young Jurist Award by the National Academy of Law and Social Sciences of Córdoba.
In addition to her judicial roles, Verónica is an Undergraduate and Postgraduate Professor in both national and international universities, and she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at the National University of Córdoba.
She holds a position as part of the steering committee at the "Ricardo C. Núñez Magistrates Training Center- Judicial Power Córdoba”, and at the "Institute of Judicial Studies - Magistrates Association of Córdoba” and also, she is member of the "Business Institute" at the National Academy of Law and Social Sciences of Córdoba. She was also the developer and first director of the MDE (Master’s in Business Law) at the Catholic University of Córdoba, 2018/2020.
She is an active member of the “Instituto Iberoamericano de Derecho Concursal” located in D.F. México, since 2006, and of INSOL INTERNATIONAL.
She has also published various works, including the “Annotated Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law,' Ed. Macchi 2006; 'Creditors' Committee,' Ed. Macchi 2008, and several chapters in other collective works. She is a regular contributor to specialized commercial law journals, and participates in several Congresses every year, always devoted to commercial law.
