Bio: 

Antonio Leandro is Associate Professor of International Law at the University of Bari Aldo Moro, where he teaches Private and Public International Law. He gained in 2017 the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as a Full Professor of International Law.
He carried out several studies and researches in matters of Private and Public International Law since his PhD at the University of Rome La Sapienza.
He focuses its activity mainly on cross-border insolvency, international commercial arbitration, international contracts and maritime law.
His bibliography includes three books, three editions and numerous articles, notes and commentaries. Among others publications, he wrote in 2008 a book on the role of the lex concursus within the European Insolvency Regulation which addresses topics of jurisdiction, applicable law as well as enforcement of judgments. He co-edited in 2018 a book on the international and European horizons in cross-border business crisis.
He was member of the Insolvency Office Holders Principles Review and Advisory Group within the project European Principles and Best Practices for Insolvency Office Holders carried out by the Leiden Research Team on International Insolvency Law of the Leiden Law School (2013-2014). He has been involved as speaker in judicial and lawyers training projects around Europe such as the project Cooperation between Members of the Judiciary and other Actors Dealing with Cross-border Insolvency Proceedings coordinated by the Belgian Judicial Training Institute with the support of the European Union (2014-2015).
He was member of the Group of experts on improving the efficiency of the enforcement of judgments in the EU – the attachment of bank accounts, appointed by the European Commission (2011).
Among the affiliations, he is member of the Directive Committee of the International Law Association (Italian Branch) and coordinator of the Study Group on Cross-border Insolvency and National Legal Orders. Member of the American Society of International Law, he took part to the Private International Law Prize Committee (2015), and he is co-editor for the Europe Section of the «Commentaries on Private International Law», newsletter of the ASIL Private International Law Interest Group (2015-).
He is frequently invited as a speaker in national and international congresses, workshops, and round tables.
