Iacopo Donati is a professor of corporate and insolvency law at the University of Siena and, currently, UNIDROIT/Bank of Italy Chair Holder for the UNIDROIT’s Bank Insolvency Project.

He is the author of several publications on corporate law, restructuring and insolvency law, and bank resolution. He has participated, also in a capacity as principal investigator, to various high-impact international, European, and national research projects. His most recent research interests mainly focus on shareholders’ rights in the context of restructuring and insolvency processes, directors’ liability, and proportionality in the legal framework for banks crisis management.

In 2014 he was admitted to the New York State Bar (USA) and to the Italian Bar. Over the years, he has developed specific experience in assisting and advising corporations, banks, and listed companies, as well as in judicial and arbitration matters relating to corporate, banking, and insolvency law.
