Daniel K. Wootton
Bio:
Dan Wootton is a Partner with the firm's Advisory Services Group in Toronto, and provides financial restructuring services to clients in a variety of industries including manufacturing, financial services, real estate, retail, distribution, hospitality and construction.
Dan has advised banks, secured creditors, regulators and companies experiencing financial distress using both formal and informal restructuring tools. Dan has acted as an advisor to all of Canada's Schedule A chartered banks, as well as foreign financial institutions and other non-traditional lenders for the purposes of reviewing and reporting on their respective security positions and realization strategies.
Since 2003, Dan has developed significant experience in acting as a financial advisor, receiver and trustee with respect to court driven restructuring proceedings and has worked with the Competition Bureau of Canada, the Ontario Securities Commission and Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario.
Dan has assisted with the negotiation of forbearance agreements, accommodation agreements, asset sales, and in providing general turnaround advice.
Dan is a member of Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals, the Ontario Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals, the Canadian Insolvency Foundation, the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals, the International Insolvency Institute (NextGen) and the Turnaround Management Association.
Dan has written articles and presented to a number of accounting, finance and legal associations on topics related to corporate restructuring. He is a member of the board of directors for the Toronto Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.
