Clayton Chong is a senior associate in WongPartnership LLP's Special Situations Advisory Practice. He has acted for debtors and key lenders in high-value restructuring transactions, and advised on insolvency aspects of complex financial arrangements. Notable matters include advising the judicial managers of Xihe Holdings in its US$1 billion structured vessel sale programme, acting for the Miclyn Express Offshore Group in its US$500 million debt restructuring via a scheme of arrangement, acting for EMAS Chiyoda Subsea in obtaining recognition of its Chapter 11 reorganisation plan in Singapore to restructure US$1.6 billion of its debts, and acting for the rescue lender in securing approval of a “roll-up” rescue financing package in the seminal decision Re Design Studio Group Ltd [2020] SGHC 148.
