Bio:

Andréa Galhardo Palma is a civil law judge working currently at the São Paulo State Court since 2000, with great experience in litigation over the contract in general, torts, corporation, construction Law, public contracts. Nowadays she is in charge of 2nd Regional Corporate, Insolvency and Arbitration Court in São Paulo City which cover 176 industrial cities around São Paulo State. She took part in many lawsuits involving,  contracts,  insolvency/recovery and domestic arbitration issuing provisioning measures and awards according Brazilian arbitration law. She has a law Degree from USP, Brazil, LLM from University of Pennsylvania (PennState) focus on International Commercial Arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (mediation, negotiation, dispute boards); Specialization in  International Commercial Arbitration at Columbia University and  in domestic arbitration at FGV Law São Paulo.  PHD candidate in Business  Law and Innovation at FGV Law (ongoing since 2025). Certified in compliance anti-corruption law in 2019 at LEC- Legal Ethics and Compliance. Frequent guest speaker on mediation in recovery and insolvency, litigation and domestic arbitration issues. Fellow/Tutor of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb),Member of Construction Law Society - Branch of North America and member of DRBF (Dispute Board Resolution Foundation – America Latina Branch), member of Insol.
