Nicoleta Mirela N?stasie is senior lawyer, member of UNBR (The National Union of Romanian Bars) – Bucharest Bar, insolvency practitioner, member of UNPIR (Romanian National Union of insolvency Practitioners) – Bucharest Branch, consultant in industrial property - trademarks and geographical indications, retired judge at Bucharest Tribunal, Romania. She has gained a significant experience in commercial and insolvency law, company crisis, restructuring, private international law, as well as intellectual property law and relevant litigation, as a lawyer for 8 years (1996-2004) and as a judge for 18 years (2004-2022). After retiring as a judge in 2022, she started working as an insolvency practitioner and lawyer, owning an Independent Firm in Bucharest, Romania. She served as specialist in international research projects: International insolvency project – EU International Insolvency Law and Third Countries: Which Way(s) Forward?” (2022-2024); EU Project “Judicial Co-Operation supporting Economic Recovery in Europe” - JCOERE (2018-202); EUIPO “Network of IP Judges of the EUTM and RCD Courts on Mediation-Documentation” (2021-2022); EUIPO “Judges Quality Assurance and Legal Practice Panels J-QALPP” (2020-2022). She holds a PhD from Titu Maiorescu University, Bucharest, Romania, 2020, summa cum laude, commercial law, with research topic “Cooperation, communication and coordination in cross-border insolvency of the group of companies”. She is a graduate of INSOL International Global Insolvency Practice Course (2017-2018). She is the author of various publications and articles in the field of corporate and insolvency law. She has been involved in collaborative work and research in various international projects, organised by INSOL International World Bank, UNCITRAL, INSOL Europe, European Union Intellectual Property Office, Cork University. She is a member of the International Insolvency Institute, Fellow INSOL International, INSOL Europe, CERIL Executive, INSOL ERA, member INSOL Europe’s Legal Tech & Digital Assets Wing. She has been involved in more than 45 international training programs for different areas of law, in particular European law, insolvency, and intellectual property law."
